Philosophy At St. Patrick School, we are appreciative of our Catholic Christian Faith. Although we do not proselytize, we do not apologize, for it is out belief that our strength as a school community comes from this very faith. We tell our children that there are two reasons for attending St. Patrick School. The first is to learn about God. The second is to learn about God's creation, including mathematics, science, language, history, art, and ourselves. We are all God's children and, therefore, special in His eyes. It is the hope of the school that students will come to see each other as having worth or value that goes beyond any accident of our existence such as skin color, gender, accent, size or wealth. Self-respect, and respect for others, is a lesson we hope every child will learn before leaving our school. We believe that every child can and will learn, and are committed to helping each student achieve whatever level of success he/she is capable of attaining. We set high standards and help students meet these standards, always keeping in mind different skill levels. As treasured creations of God, children need love and respect, as well as academic development. We strive to motivate students to seek knowledge, to be more appreciative of the world around them, and become active participants in curriculum and religious beliefs are integrated so that students will gain a better understanding of the interrelationship between themselves and the grandeur of God. This will prepare them to bring Christ's truths and morality to all people. We understand that parents are the primary teachers of their children. We cannot replace parents, but we can assist them in this awesome responsibility. We try to maintain good lines of communication between the home and the school so that the students are presented with a united front. We rely on the parents and other friends of the school to help keep our school strong. We commit ourselves to give witness of the reality of Gospel values to the school community. Through communal prayer and sharing, we seek God's help and encourage one another to persevere in serving the Lord and his people.
